Khalid Abdulla Al-Bassam is Chairman of Al Bassam Investment Company W.L.L.

He is also the Chairman of Capital Management House BSC © and Bahrain Islamic Bank B.S.C., a Board member of Gulf Investment Corporation-Kuwait and a member of the Unit Investment Fund of the Islamic Development Bank – Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

He held previous appointments as Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Bahrain, Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Stock Exchange and Board member of the General Organization for Social Insurance (‘‘GOSI’’) Bahrain.

Mr. Al-Bassam received the Islamic Banker of the Year Award in 2002 during the World Islamic Banking Conference.

He graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration from Eastern New Mexico University, U.S.A in May 1988.
